cute&radical #3: queer practice
It seems equality and diversity amongst creatives is high on the agenda! But what about queerness in our industry? And why does the sexual orientation of architects matter so little?
As always, we serve you our recommendations fresh and hot on current events, take a look at our homebase in terms of how the topic is integrated into the miserably disproportioned discourse on parity in architecture at TUM, and conclude with our deep dive with architectural historian Dr. Uwe Bresan and the anonymous collective @thequeerarchitect.
Have fun & bisous!

cute&radical #2: summer edition
Just in time for the end of this (seemingly endless) semester, we are happy to be the cherry on top of your cake with our second newsletter, which will surely sweeten your summer break. As always, you can look forward to some cute but radical content. Besides some fresh recommendations, in this newsletter, we will radically discuss built power structures and other extremely important topics.
cute&radical #1: structures of power
11/08/23
Power structures are present in all of our interpersonal relationships and can be found for instance in institutions, professional and everyday life, communication structures, and gender relations. They can be so diverse, subtle and invisible that they are often not perceived as such and are therefore responsible for the oppression and marginalization of numerous groups of people in our society.
Within architecture, power relations can be identified on a structural level, and are consequently also reflected in the built environment. Today we want to focus on the structural problems. The next newsletter will be about built expressions of power relations - stay tuned!
In this newsletter, we are questioning how and by whom the canon is shaped, who holds speaking positions, which groups are visible in the discourse, and who determines our catalog of references. Isn't it our task as future architects to break out of the usual narratives, to question and to stop reinforcing them through reproduction? Don't we need to write new narratives?
In the category Homebase we take a look at what is offered at TUM, what else is Hot & Fresh and we will offer you more information in the Deep Dive section.
